Das 1910-1912 gebaute Chief Post Office dient nun als Hauptgebäude für den Bahnhof Waitemata. Dieser war bisher ein Kopfbahnhof und wird aktuell zu einem Durchgangsbahnhof umgebaut im Rahmen des Projektes City Rail Link.
