Das erste mal in der Geschichte der Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn kommt ein Deh 4/4 Typ BVZ zum Einsatz vor dem Glacier Express, dies war in den 80er Jahren, vor der HGe 4/4 II noch Standard zwischen Brig und Zermatt. Ermöglicht hat dies der gorsse Gruppenandrang über die Neujahrsfesttage.
